With her father being Venezuelan, and her mother Puerto Rican, she grew up surrounded by strong family values and a large support system. Being a good example for her younger sister has been her overall goal in life. Every year, Dr. Riera goes on a volunteering trip with “Dentistas Misioneros de Puerto Rico” to the Dominican Republic. With a large group of dentists, students, and other volunteers, they treat the community of San Juan De La Maguana for three days.
